Swedish Health Services Endoscopy Technician - Redmond Asc in Redmond, Washington
Swedish Medical Group is looking for Endoscopy Technician Ambulatory Surgery Center (Per diem, DAY SHIFT) to work in Redmond Asc at Swedish Medical Group in Remond, WA.
Under the direction of a Charge RN, prepares all equipment for endoscopic procedures, cleans equipment properly using appropriate protocols and procedures, prepares equipment for repair and tracks repairs, and assists in all Endoscopic procedures for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Accountable for demonstrating knowledge of principles and practice of aseptic techniques, and all Quality assurance activities related to infection control and disinfection/sterilization of endoscopic equipment.
In this position you will:
Prepare endoscopy room, including physical environment and equipment; informs RN of equipment that needs to be replaced or repaired. Assures equipment is in good working order; maintains records of equipment sent for repair or ordered as replacement equipment. Cleans and disinfects equipment; processes and sterilizes equipment according to OR protocol. Assists physician with endoscopy procedures. Assists in operating room. Assures patient has a signed consent before start of procedure.
Collect specimens under the supervision of the RN. Appropriately handles and transports all tissues/specimens. Assists with transportation of patients under direction of the RN. Documents appropriately on the treatment record and charge form. Maintains endoscopy unit in a clean, organized manner. Monitors appropriate stock levels in Endoscopy and notifies RN of any needed supplies. Incorporates positive guest relations with patient, family and healthcare team.
Attend department meetings and in-service programs. Clerical responsibilities include answering telephones and correctly relaying messages, scheduling cases in the absence of the RN, processing charges if needed, preparing patient chart before procedure. Has a working knowledge of BLS and provides basic emergency care. Assists with Quality Assurance activities related to equipment, physical environment and patient care.
Perform any other related duties as directed by the RN.
Required qualifications for this position include:
1 year previous experience to include scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room.
Completion of a Surgical Technology, Anesthesia Technologist, Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant program.
Current Surgical Technologist, Nursing Assistant Certification or Certified Medical Assistant in the state of Washington required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
Qualified candidates must be able to successfully complete GI Scope Certification Exam upon meeting eligibility requirements within one year of assuming the position
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years previous experience to include scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room.
GI Scope Certification is preferred
