Swedish Health Services Central Services Technician II - Sterile Processing in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Central Services Technician II (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in Sterile Processing at Swedish Ballard in Seattle, WA.
The Central Services Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities. Central Services activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies. The Central Services Technician must be able to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System
In this position you will:
Assist in record keeping and verification of equipment.
Perform duties including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment; and inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Fill surgery case carts from predetermined listings. Deliver case carts to surgical/interventional area.
Able to relate to and work in all of the Department’s areas on assigned shift.
Operate all sterilizers using appropriate sterilization techniques at appropriate campus according to manufacturer instructions.
Identify and report supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
Responsible for cleanliness of work areas and performs tasks in accordance with established procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test.
3 years related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment
Current certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing)
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Materials management and/or supply chain experience
