Swedish Health Services Finance Analyst - Foundation in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Finance Analyst Foundation (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Foundation Management at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.
The Swedish Foundation Finance Analyst is responsible for preparing certain key financial statements, analyses and other financial reports for use by internal or external parties. Must have a mastery of a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Manage the entire process for a variety of complicated tasks and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst, the Finance Analyst assists in serving as the financial liaison between the Foundation Division and all Swedish departments. Assists in the fund request and reimbursement procedures and ensures that we have 100% compliance. Assists the Senior Finance Analyst in serving as the primary analyst for comprehensive fundraising campaign, including the development of campaign reports, analysis, and gift tracking. Manages endowment reporting process and set up.
In this position you will:
Assist in financial reporting to multiple audiences including donors, senior leadership in the Swedish Medical Center Foundation and in SHS departments, and to the Swedish Medical Center Foundation Board. Ensure that all reports are accurate and easy to understand. Provide research, answer questions and provide explanations as needed. This will include Campaign Reports and analysis.
Assist in staffing the Foundation’s Board of Governor’s Investment committee. Assist in providing financial data and reports. Ensure actions and directives are implemented and completed.
Assist in the management of Foundation endowment funds particularly in preparing reports for donors, analyzing fund balances and performance.
Independently schedules projects to meet deadlines within overall guidelines.
Expert Raiser’s Edge user. Create all funds in database. Create and run queries, exports and reports for Finance and Foundation department staff as needed. Maintain expertise by staying current in updates and processes.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers with an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction..
Maintain knowledge base of both general accounting and industry specific issues..
Perform other specific projects or assignments as requested by Senior Finance Analyst and other foundation leaders.
Assist in the disbursement of Foundation funds to SHS departments and programs. Assist departments in accessing department/program-specific funds.
Assist in the preparation and accuracy of Foundation’s annual 990.
Assist with Foundation annual external and internal audits. Prepare work papers and review financial reports. Provide documentation as needed.
Required qualifications this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting or related field.
Coursework/Training Education in Excel, Word, Access, or their equivalents. Or equivalent educ/experience
Coursework/Training Education with large, sophisticated fund-raising data software (Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Auction Tracker). Or equivalent educ/experience
5 or more years Experience in a healthcare or other related finance position; not-for-profit experience preferred.
Experience leading and directing the work of others.
