Swedish Health Services Foundation Development Coordinator - REMOTE HYBRID in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Development Coordinator Foundation (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Foundation Management at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.

SCHEDULE: REMOTE HYBRID. MUST LIVE IN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO SEATTLE, WA. 3 days will be worked at our First Hill office, while the other 2 can be worked remotely. 8a-5p PST; Monday-Friday.

This position will be reporting to the Vice President, Gift Planning and Resource Development, this position supports the day-to-day activities of the VP and team, as well as the VP for Marketing and Communications. Performs a variety of administrative support and project management duties including, but not limited to: coordinating VPs calendars and appointments, coordinating VPs travel arrangements and expense reports, preparing meeting agendas and materials, tracking follow up items and compiling/organizing resource documents. Works closely with members of the Foundation senior leadership team and their support staff to coordinate projects and maximize efficiencies. Helps to track and document progress using donor CRM and project management software, manages special projects from inception to completion, and ensures good customer service to internal and external constituencies.

  • Serves as key support for the fundraising, relationship building, communications, and project management activities of the VP of Gift Planning and Resource Development, gift planning team and finance team.

  • Provides administrative support to VP of Marketing and Communications, including calendar management, expense reports, meeting preparation and project support.

  • Assists in the development of written materials, including presentations, briefings for internal partners, direct correspondence with donors, and the drafting of memos, proposals, and case statements. Serve as liaison to communications team for project fulfillment.

  • Assists gift planning team in organizing and tracking follow-up steps from gift planning marketing efforts.

  • Supports the gift planning team's event objectives, including the evaluation of potential event attendees and preparing follow-up materials.

  • Assists finance team with meeting preparation, collating reports for distribution and communications to Foundation team on finance matters.

  • Helps to manage data, prospect lists, and prospect management, working with CRM operations and prospect management teams in support of gift planning goals and activities.

  • Organizes outcomes from internal and external meetings, and assists in strategy and tracking follow through of these initiatives.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 3 years of formal philanthropy experience (preferably in healthcare philanthropy or a comparably complex organization).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3 years of administrative or project management experience

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
