Swedish Health Services Licensed Construction Electrician Sr in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Licensed Construction Electrician Sr (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Facilities Management at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Construction Licensed Journeyman Electrician is responsible for electrical project installations, project planning and review, cost estimation, and will have over site of electrical project budget ensuring electrical projects meet budgetary requirements. In addition, this position will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of hospital electrical systems and components with voltages up to 13800 volts, ensuring uninterrupted power to all Medical Center buildings. May direct the work of less skilled electrician(s) and maintenance staff on projects as part of a collaborative team.
In this position you will:
Project Installation: Provides scope assessments, cost estimates, schedule development, and disruption/outage planning for projects. Conducts plan and submittal/RFI reviews, subcontractor bidding and coordination, and manages overall project costs within allotted budgets as required. Able to take direction from electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and to install all electrical components (i.e. conduit, breaker, fuses, disconnects, switches, outlets, controls, wiring, lighting, motors) efficiently and effectively as per NEC
Repair/Replacement: Repairs existing components (i.e. conduit, breakers, fuses, disconnects, switches, outlets, controls, wiring, lighting, motors, etc.)efficiently and effectively as per NEC. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install and service medium (480v) and high voltage (13800v) electrical systems and associated equipment such as repairing switch gear, installing and hooking up transformers, locating defects in cables, or selecting materials to make installations or repairs.. Ability to prepare repair estimates and to document troubleshooting, repair and re-commissioning requirements.
Time Management: Ensures electrical projects meet established timelines by managing own time and the times of others team members / apprentice.
Inspections/Codes: Oversees permit applications and schedules regulatory inspections. Must be very familiar with electrical codes and use of electrical code reference material. Maintain necessary licensing and code requirements per City, County, State, and CMS/DNV
Technical/Mechanical: Able to interpret and troubleshoot from schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, shop directives, diagrams, meters, gauges, testing equipment relative to electrical components and equipment. Adept at knowledge, use and interpretation of testing equipment. Familiarity with the construction, operation, and maintenance of high and medium voltage equipment and the hazards involved. Knowledgeable of laws, codes and regulations pertaining to high voltage electrical work, including NEC, IEEE.
Building Automation Systems: Familiar with automation controls and systems related to BAS and system controls. Able to navigate and understand basic control of JCI and Allerton BAS equipment. Installation of wiring and devices for control and automation systems.
Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information on both current and future problem-solving and decision making.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must have a valid State of Washington Journeyman (01) Electrical License
Ten (10) or more years experience in the construction field reading blue prints, electrical diagrams, installing electrical components including high and low voltage systems, including 13.8v electrical switch gear, running conduits. Experience preforming preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment, including panels, preforming inferred scanning
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Seven (7) years knowledge of electrical codes in a acute care facilities.
